Fujairah is the only Emirate of the U.A.E. that is almost totally mountainous. Traverse across the picturesque east coast to Bidiyah Mosque, the oldest in the region, and on to Khor Fakkan, known as the 'bay of the two jaws' facing the Gulf of Oman.
Attracting tourists is the sprawling Fujairah Port where one can experience the Fujairah Fish market first hand. To learn more on the history of Fujairah one can visit the Fujairah Museum. There is much to see from charming old villages to strong fortress built in the 16th century.
Bitnah Oasis, with its exotic frankincense and Hanna trees is a must visit. Khor Kalba, a mangrove forest that is home to more than 20 endangered bird species, is an ideal place for nature lovers.
